About

Hero & Humbled Fishing is your best bet for an east coast central Florida inshore fishing charter. We are located on the East side of Orlando and fish anywhere from Ponce Inlet south to Sebastian Inlet. We also offer some freshwater trips in the St. Johns river in the winter.

How’d we get our name? Well, most days you’re the hero and some days you are humbled by the fish. That is the life of a charter captain. Knowing this, we wanted to offer pricing that keeps cost low on those bad days.

Meet the Captain

Capt. Scott Sampson

Scott has been fishing these waters for over 30 years. He has experience in everything from Bluegill to Blue Marlin. His favorite fish to catch is snook and favorite way is a live bait on the flats. The “Pop” of a snook is something you will never forget.

When Scott was 10 he heard his uncle was going fishing and, on a whim, asked if he could go. His uncle said yes and it was all over from there. Scott grew up over Merritt Island and learned to fish the Banana River and Port Canaveral. Once he got driving, no fish was safe. He would spend most of his time down at Sebastian Inlet. When he got his first inshore boat he would fish the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon with his wife and son.

Now he wants to bring his love of fishing to you!

Meet the Key Lime

The Key Lime is a Key West 197SK, a very versatile boat. Its a 19 ft. skiff, which means it gets shallow, even with a heavy load. We fish in 1 foot of water or less for the Redfish, Trout, and Snook. It handles the chop well and makes for a very comfortable ride even for a family of 4 plus the captain. It is an amazing boat and we hope you love it as much as we do.

She is equipped with:

  • 12′ Talon Shallow Water Anchor
  • 80′ lbs Minn Kota Terova
  • 12 gallon livewell
  • 115 hp Yamaha
